Nathanael Looney, 88, of Sweet Home, died March 25, 2006.
He was born in Oregon City to John and Viola (Franklin) Looney.
He lived in Molalla as a youth, then moved to Sweet Home in 1937 and worked in the timber industry.
Mr. Looney married Eva Louella Cowitz on May 13, 1939. In the late 1960s he worked for the Sweet Home School District. He retired in 1980.
Mr. Looney raised cattle, sheep and other livestock. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, family and friends. He served as an elder at 18th and Long Church of Christ, and was most recently attending Riverside Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Eva; his children and spouses: Keith (Betty) Looney of Sweet Home, Glenn (Dianna) Looney of Sweet Home and Kathleen (Galyn) Roth of Christmas Valley; his sisters, Eileen Harvey of Florida, Odean Thelander of Molalla and LaVera Timmons of Cave Junction; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Eldon, Melvin and Raymond, and a child as an infant.
Burial will be 11 a.m, Wednesday, March 29, at Liberty Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. at 18th and Long Church of Christ.
