New Jamboree director named

The Sweet Home Economic Development Group has promoted Erin Regrutto to festival director for the Oregon Jamboree effective Sept. 1.

Regrutto most recently served as the Oregon Jamboree’s Events Manager.

In her new role, Regrutto will be responsible for all aspects of the Oregon Jamboree’s operations. Regrutto replaces Tom Albert, a long-time Jamboree volunteer who served as the event’s interim festival director during the past year.

Festival Adviser and former Jamboree Event Manager Peter LaPonte has agreed to be available for consulting as an independent contractor the Oregon Jamboree, said Sweet Home Economic Development Group President Kevin Strong.

According to Strong, Regrutto has the necessary skills to lead the festival forward.

“Erin has established a great rapport with the Jamboree’s staff and volunteers,” said Strong. “She understands what it takes to put on an outstanding show for thousands of guests. We are looking forward to Erin’s event leadership in the years ahead.”

Prior to joining the Oregon Jamboree staff, Regrutto served as director of marketing and special events for the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk in Pueblo, Colorado. She has a degree in hotel, restaurant and tourism management from New Mexico State University.

The Oregon Jamboree is the premier country music and camping festival in the Pacific Northwest. The event is produced by the nonprofit Sweet Home Economic Development Group.

The 2011 Jamboree will be held from July 29 €“ July 31. Tickets are available at http://www.oregonjamboree.com or by calling the Jamboree box office at 888-613-6812.
