Nicki Emmert and Mikal Mitchell have announced their engagement to be married.
The bride-to-be is the daughter of former longtime Sweet Home residents Steve and Sandi Emmert, now of Sherwood.
A 2005 graduate of Sweet Home High School, she lives in Sherwood and attends Mount Hood Community College, where she expects to graduate next spring with an associate’s degree in applied science in medical assisting. She works at Starbuck’s.
The prospective groom is the son of Merle and Carmen Mitchell of Tangent.
He is a 2001 graduate of Santiam Christian High School and graduated from Oregon State University bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s in structural engineering last summer. He is employed with an engineering firm in Salem.
A July 2009 wedding is planned.
