No charges will be filed against Carol Ann Perez in a crash that killed a 23-year-old Sweet Home man in November.
The investigation and district attorney review are complete and the case is closed, said Police Chief Jeff Lynn.
Bobby Johnson was killed while crossing Highway 20 near Cedar Shack in a motor-assisted power chair, a powered wheelchair on Nov. 24 after being struck by a minivan driven by Perez. He had been crossing south across Highway 20.
The investigation into the March 4 crash near the Sweet Home Post Office and the intersection of 13th Avenue and Long Street also is complete, Lynn said, and the driver, Megan Thompson, will not be charged.
Joy Thorson of the Bend area and recently of the Sweet Home area had been struck by Thompson’s car while crossing Long Street on March 4.
She was taken to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital and then to the Oregon Health Sciences University where she was listed in critical condition.
Since then, she has returned to her home in the Bend area, Lynn said.
