Nurse practitioners deserve thanks

Editor:

The week of Nov. 5 is National Nurse Practitioner Week, giving those of us in health care a chance to recognize another fine group of professionals in our system.

Nurse practitioners are registered nurses who have advanced education and advanced clinical training, most with master’s or post-master’s degrees. They are primary care providers who give care to people of all ages and can be seen for day-to-day health care needs. They can examine, diagnose, prescribe, treat, counsel and educate patients on many health care issues.

For the many hats they wear and their continued commitment to the health and well being of our community, please join me in recognizing these important members of our health care team.
