Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District volunteer Keith Santel, left, drops eggs from the department’s ladder truck during a PBIS Egg Drop event at Oak Heights School Wednesday, March 20. Students, working in teams, built contraptions to protect their eggs during the approximately 45-foot drop to the playground. They were judged on the originality of their creations and, of course, whether their egg survived. Rifth-graders Austin Gali, Hannah Powell, Kaylee Ranua, Courtnie Woodard and Patience Christman – The Frank Team – were the only ones to finish with a perfect score of 100. Below, judge Candy Snyder, center, and student Dusti Baxter inspect an egg after unpacking it from its protection.
