Oakley Andrew Elliott, 53, of Sweet Home, died Sept. 5 at the Samaritan Albany General Hospital.
He was born May 10, 1962 in Lebanon, the son of Larry and Carol “Sue” (Tackitt) Elliott. He was raised in Sweet Home and graduated from Sweet Home High School in 1980. He attended Linfield College on a baseball scholarship, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business and communication. Mr. Elliott returned to Sweet Home following his graduation and eventually went to work for Entek International in Lebanon. He married Candi Sills on April 1, 2011 in Albany.
Mr. Elliott was a member of the Sweet Home First Baptist Church. He loved sports and was an avid golfer, belonging to the Men’s Golf Club at Mallard Creek Golf Course. He was deemed “The Grill Master” and loved barbecuing for family and friends.
Mr. Elliott is survived by his wife Candi of Sweet Home; children Ryan and Brandon Elliott, both of Sweet Home, and Shenea Dana of Albany; step-son Nick Turner of Sweet Home; father Larry Elliott of Sweet Home; brother Jubal Elliott of Sweet Home; sister Beverly Gold of Albany; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother Carol “Sue” Elliott.
A celebration of his life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Sweet Home First Baptist Church.
