Anne Sue Brady, 81, of Sweet Home, died Aug. 6, 2009 at a local nursing home.
She was born June 6, 1928 in Manhattan, N.Y., the daughter of Alexander and Anna Kotal.
On June 22, 1947 she married Patrick Earl Brady, whom she met on a blind date, in New York; later that year they moved to the Sweet Home area.
She was very athletic and never learned to drive, so she always walked everywhere. She collected cans to pay for food for stray cats and enjoyed butterflies. Her favorite activities included singing and dancing and she was an excellent cook.
Survivors include a son, Michael Brady, of Sweet Home; a daughter, Elizabeth Housen, of Sweet Home; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick; a brother, Michael Kotal; and two sisters, Olga Cabral and Betty Keene.
Funeral services were held Aug. 11 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. Private inurnment will be held at a later date.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Humane Society.
