Obituary: Barbara Cook

Barbara “Jean” Cook, 79, of Brownsville, died on the morning of Oct. 23, 2009 at her home.

She was born March 25, 1930 in Anaconda, Mont., the daughter of Eldon and Elizabeth (Goulding) Gledhill.

She moved to Brownsville in 1977. She loved sewing and gardening.

Mrs. Cook is survived by her husband, David Cook; son Jerry and daughter-in-law Daisy Good-rich; daughters Suezanna and son-in-law Glenn Robinson, Loretta Gilchrist, Linda Chant, Lil Coke and Lois Kelly; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Eldon Gledhill in 1939; mother Beth; and son David Coke in 2000.

Viewing will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brownsville. Service will follow at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Cook’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s research.
