Obituary: Beverly Johnson

Beverly “Bev” Marianne Bain Johnson, 72, of Albany, died Sept. 1, 2010 from liver cancer with her family by her side.

She was born March 18, 1938 in Albany to Francis and Janette Bain. Moving to Sweet Home, she met David Johnson, and they were married on December 29, 1956. After living in Las Vegas, where Mr. Johnson was stationed in the Air Force, they moved back to Sweet Home then to Albany.

Woodworking was Mrs. Johnson’s favorite activity, and she and her husband started Johnson’s Woodcraft. In addition, she loved crocheting, scrapbooking and other crafts. She was a member of the Albany Women’s Club and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dave; five children, Jodi Lugan, Kim Marin, Ron Johnson, Michelle Cantral and Michael Johnson; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Beggs, Kerry Hurst and Lonie Stewart; and two brothers, Carroll and Jim Bain.

Bev was preceded in death by her daughter, Rene, and her parents.

Viewing will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at Fisher Funeral Home. A rosary will follow at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albany.
