Obituary: Don Easterly

Don Easterly, 71, died at his home in Casa Grande, Ariz., on Nov. 9, 2009.

He was born on Nov. 11, 1937 in Marysville, Wash. He attended Sweet Home High School in 1952 and 1953.

His family moved to Port Angeles, Wash., where he graduated.

He was in the Air Force from 1958 to 1961 and then came back to Sweet Home where he met and married his brother Jim’s sister-in-law Sally Graves on April 25, 1963.

Mr. Easterly worked for Roberts’ Men’s Clothing, which he purchased and operated as Don’s Duds for 7 years until he moved to California in 1984.

Mr. Easterly was a gifted musician and played for several churches in his lifetime, including Chapel on the Hill and Cornerstone Fellowship while in Sweet Home.

In his retirement years, he did many beautiful paintings and murals.

Mr. Easterly and his wife spent several years RVing before settling in Casa Grande.

Mr. Easterly is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sally; sons, Timothy, Benjamin and Daniel Easterly; five grandchildren;

brothers, Paul and Jim Easterly; and sisters, Sharon Peterson and Diane Crews.

A memorial service was held on Nov. 28 at Desert Sky Baptist Church.
