Donald Dee Keef, 68, of Sweet Home died Oct. 31, 2009 at his home.
He was born in Newcastle, Wyo. to Charles Dee and Mina Lee (Kimsey) Keef.
He met his wife, Becky, through his brother; and on Aug. 26, 1961, they were married. He began working for the railroad about a year later.
They lived most of their lives in Citrus Heights, Calif., where Mr. Keef worked 42 years for Southern Pacific Railroad, which later became Union Pacific Railroad. He retired from the railroad in 2005 and they moved to Sweet Home.
Mr. Keef enjoyed classic cars, especially muscle cars, and collected toy cars and other figurines. He loved listening to music and spending time with his dog “Spice.”
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Sue (Strain); daughter Karrie (Keef) Walley of Redding, Calif.; sister Karen Key Ellis of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren (who are twins).
He was preceded in death by his mother; father; and son, Ronald Dee Keef in 1994.
A graveside service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home.
