Obituary: Edward Peterson

Edward Charles Peterson, 57, of Lebanon died Nov. 29, 2009.

He was born March 16, 1952 in Myrtle Point to Charles Edward and Alice May (Bird) Peterson.

Mr. Peterson lived in Sweet Home until 1984, when he moved to Lebanon to run Peterson’s Auto Wrecking. He owned and operated the business in Sweet Home and then in Lebanon.

He loved collecting old cars and die-cast cars. He was a member of the Rolling Oldies Car Club and the Portland GTO Club. He enjoyed drag racing and NASCAR.

Mr. Peterson is survived by his daughter Sue and her husband Brent Tompkins of Vancouver, Wash.; son Calvin Peterson of Lebanon; brother Larry Peterson of Eugene; sister Karen Bradley of Lebanon; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Peterson, in 2005; his brother, Bill, in 1971; his father in 1986 and mother in 1982.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an education fund for Mr. Peterson’s son Calvin Peterson at any U.S. Bank Branch.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Community Chapel, 42250 Ames Creek Road.
