Glenn L. Convis, 68, of Sweet Home, died Jan. 28, 2010 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center due to complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
He was born Feb. 21, 1941 in Platteville, Ill., to Glenn and Margaret (Jahneke) Convis.
He grew up in Illinois and then moved to Oregon in 1995 to be with family. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, fishing and bowling. While practicing at Linn Lanes he bowled a perfect 300 game.
He belonged to two bowling leagues before his health forced him to quit bowling. He had a Wii game with which he could continue bowling while sitting in his chair.
Mr. Convis is survived by his sisters, Vernetta Day Gorham of Lebanon and Laretta Childers of Sweet Home; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life was held Jan. 31 at Sweet Home Lanes. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
