Obituary: Henry Honeywell

Henry Dale “Hank” Honeywell, 68, of Sweet Home died Aug. 22. 2009.

He was born April 7, 1941 in Wright City, Okla., to Guy F. and Gladys (Igo) Honeywell.

He came to Oregon in 1947, graduating from Oregon State University in civil engineering and began his 39-year career with the Federal Highway Administration, retiring in 2000.

He was an active member of the Sweet Home Fire Association board. Served as a Jamboree director, was an active volunteer in his church and was active in the Kiwanis of Salem.

Family and friends were very important to Mr. Honeywell. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and camping.

Mr. Honeywell is survived by his wife, Carol Ann; his children, Jon and wife Ashley Honeywell, and Craig Honeywell; one brother, Fred Honeywell; and four sisters, Venita Stevenson, Darlene Gaskey, Kathy Reynolds and Peggy Honeywell. He was preceded in death by three brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 26, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Stayton.
