Obituary: Kip Davis

Kip Harrison Davis, 37, of Albany, died Sept. 1, 2010 in an accident at the Albany Motocross Track, doing what he loved.

He was born Oct. 11, 1972 in Lebanon, the son of Jerry and Joy (Taylor) Davis

He worked as a millwright at International Paper Mill in Springfield. He also operated his own construction company, Kip H. Davis Construction.

Mr. Davis was a hard worker, loving husband, father, and a great friend to all who knew him. He had a great passion for dirt bike riding and made the best of friends at the track. He helped anyone he could and would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it.

Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Nikki D. (Brennan) Davis; children Josie Madison Davis, Bodey Christopher Davis, and Deacon Cade Davis; his parents, Jerry H. and V. Joy Davis of Naples, Idaho; sisters and Leona R. Norman of Naples and Christine E. Davis of Athol, Idaho; brother Steven J. Davis of Brownsville, Calif.; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins who primarily live in the Sweet Home area.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Raymond H. and Roma H. Davis of Sweet Home; and maternal grandparents, Bert E. Taylor of Las Vegas, Nev. and Violet J. Draper of Crescent City, Calif.

A memorial service is planned for 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the Sweet Home Elks Lodge, 440 Osage St. Come celebrate his life with the family.
