Kirtie Young Terherst, 81, of Sweet Home, died Nov. 17, 2009 at his home.
He was born Dec. 5, 1927 in Enon, Ark. to Aaron Thomas and Rose Ellen “Ella” (Goodnight) Terherst.
Mr. Terherst moved from Salinas, Calif. to Sweet Home in 1977. He retired as a laborer in the construction industry. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, making knives, spending time with loved ones and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Cleta Irene Terherst of Sweet Home; daughters Linda Terherst, Nona Burbank and Nancy Adams of Sweet Home, Charlotte Pepple of Crawfordsville, and Annette Swanson of Lebanon; son Dale Terherst of Lacomb;
sister Irene Dickens of Harrison, Ark.; brother Raymond Terherst of Concord, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, in 1955; his father, in 1961; daughter Wanda Terherst in 2009; sister Agnes Camp in 2003; brothers Joy Terherst in 2002 and Annis Terherst in 2007; and grandson Justin James Terherst in 2007.
