Leonard W. Zinda was born on November 16, 1949 in Sweet Home, Oregon to parents Walter and Stella (Walters) Zinda. He died at home in Salem on July 9, 2010.
He served our country in Vietnam with the U.S. Army and he worked as a public works director with city government.
He is survived by his wife JoAnn whom he married on July 1, 1973 in Iola, Kansas.
Survivors also include daughter and son-in-law, Amber L. and Jayson Hunt; son and daughter-in-law, Zachary W. Zinda and Danelle Aleshire; grandchildren, Haleigh Hunt and Tyson Hunt; brother, David L. Zinda; and sisters, Sandy Hanson and Tessa Creamer.
A great man has left this world far too early… He died as he lived €“ with dignity. Our family will never be the same.
A celebration of life service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 16, at Virgil T. Golden Funeral Service in Salem.
Contributions may be given in his name to Willamette Valley Hospice, American Cancer Society or to Oregon Disabled Veterans.
