Leslie Richard Hobin

Leslie ?Les? Richard Hobin, 92, formerly of Sweet Home, died Monday, Sept. 12, at Timberview Care Center. He was born in Pumpkin Ridge to Richard and Myrtle (Bowser) Hobin.
Mr. Hobin married Reba Adams. They moved to Sweet Home in the 1940s and started Hobin Logging with his three brothers-in-law, Jack, Gloyd and Vern Adams.
He enjoyed horses; his favorite was ?Comet.? He and his wife enjoyed traveling to Hong Kong, Mexico, and other countries. He was a charter member of Lebanon Elks and a member of many logging and lumber mill organizations as well as a Roping Club.
He is survived by: his daughter Marcia (Phill) Doumit of Arizona; daughter-in-law Maryellen Hobin of Arizona; sisters Thelma Smith of Albany, LaVona Howe of Lebanon, Pearl Dasch of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded by his wife Reba and son Gary Hobin.
Memorial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions can be made to Dornbecker Children?s Hospital. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
