Obituary: Lola Nicholson-Grill

Lola Esther (Wycoff) Nicholson-Grill, 91, died on Sept. 29, 2010 in Sweet Home.

She was born on April 13, 1919 in Davizes, Kan., to Hazel R. and Bessie L. (Brown) Wycoff. She attended schools in Norton County, Kan.

She was married on March 12, 1935 in Oberlin, Kan., to Clifford C. Nicholson. They moved to Nebraska, near Wilsonville, until moving to Lebanon in 1946. They moved to Medford in 1948 and to Sweet Home in 1950.

After Mr. Wycoff died in 1979, she married Arnold B. Grill. They were married only a few months when he died.

Mrs. Nicholson-Grill moved to Lebanon in 1984 and lived there until entering the Twin Oaks Rehab and Specialty Care center in 2009.

She is survived by her brother Vernon and sister-in-law Lois Wycoff of Papillion, Neb.; daughters, Nadine and son-in-law Jim Barker of Lebanon, Elaine and son-in-law Earl Harcrow of Sweet Home, and Rita and son-in-law Ted Holder of Cottage Grove; son, Everett and daughter-in-law Pat Nicholson of Salem; stepson, Ron and stepdaughter-in-law Lee Grill of Sweet Home; 18 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Floyd, daughter Jeanette Seiber, stepdaughter Judy Grill Wodtli and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held on Oct. 4 at the Sweet Home Church of Christ, 1825 Long St. Burial was at Gilliland Cemetery, beside her first husband.
