Obituary: Lorie Comstock

Lorie Lynn (Evans) Comstock, 45, of Sweet Home died Aug. 25, 2010 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis.

She was born Jan. 7, 1965 in Salem, to Clifford and Jacqulyn (Zumwalt) Evans.

She grew up and attended schools in Salem. In 1986 she moved to Corvallis to work for her father as a dispatcher for Beaver Cab. She married Michael L. Comstock June 9, 1996 in Fallon, Nev. They moved from Fallon to Sweet Home in 2003.

As a youngster Mrs. Comstock loved roller skating and riding horses. As an adult she graduated to computer activities, camping and fishing (although she reportedly never caught anything other than trees.) She was a homemaker who loved caring for her family. Mrs. Comstock loved being a mom and spending time with her children, watching and cheering for her sons at their sporting events.

She and her family were tireless volunteers at countless Red, White and Blue Riverfront Festivals in Corvallis. She was a member of the Sweet Home First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Comstock is survived by her husband, Michael; sons Garret Roosa of Reno, Nev., Jake Nevada Evans-Comstock and Jesse Lee Evans-Comstock, both of Sweet Home; daughter Jennifer Marie Elizabeth Comstock of Sweet Home; brothers LeRoy Evans of Washington, and Gary Evans of Corvallis; sisters Janet and husband Larry Evans-Reed of Strathmore, Calif., and Marie “Pogo” Evans; nieces Danielle Evans and Megan Evans of Corvallis; nephew Cody Evans of Las Vegas, Nev.; a great nephew and niece; aunts Linda (Irving) Zumwalt-De Matties of Queensbury, N.Y. and Lois Comstock of Creswell; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; in-laws; and niece, Carrie.

Memorial services are pending. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
