Percy “Leroy” Banta, 92, of Brownsville died Feb. 16, 2010 at a Lebanon care facility.
He was born Nov. 4, 1917 in Crawfordsville, one of 10 children, to Percy Walter and Leona “Etta” (Dalbert) Banta.
He grew up in Crawfordsville, attending Sweet Home High School. Mr. Banta married Maurine Washburn on Dec. 30, 1939 in Vancouver, Wash. They settled in Brownsville. He cared for Maurine until her death in 2006. He remained independent and vibrant…
