Rae M. Cox Sommers, 72, of Sweet Home died Dec. 7, 2009 at Avamere Rehabilitation of Lebanon.
She was born May 19, 1937 in Bennington, Oklahoma the daughter of Obie and Ruby (Roberson) McCann. She has resided in Sweet Home for the past 40 years. She worked for Smurfit Corp. in Sweet Home for 19 years.
Mrs. Sommers enjoyed sewing and quilting.
She married Jesse Cox in Santa Paula, Calif., in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1994. She married Larry Sommers in 1999.
Mrs. Sommers is survived by her husband, Larry Sommers of Sweet Home; daughters Terri and son-in-law Kevin Knauth of Soda Springs, Idaho, Sherri Cox of Brownsville, and Kim and son-in-law Dan Mullenix of Lebanon; son Allan Cox of Sweet Home; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service was held Dec. 12 at the Huston-Jost Funeral Home.
