Shirley Cooley, 74, of Sweet Home died Oct. 22, 2009.
She was born May 7, 1935 in Enid, Okla. to Glenn and Ruth (Abel) Hogard.
She lived in various places until the family moved to the Stockton, Calif., area in 1948.
Mrs. Cooley worked as a switchboard operator at San Joaquin County Hospital until she retired in 1989. She enjoyed hunting, camping, traveling and cooking.
She moved to Sweet Home in 1989.
Mrs. Cooley is survived by her son Derek and daughter-in-law Kelly of Sweet Home; daughters Tracy and son-in-law Nick of Sweet Home, and Kristi and son-in-law Auggie of Stockton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Cooley, in 2002; sons David, Rick and Jimmy; and sister Norma Jean Hogard in 1945.
Donations to defer costs may be made in her behalf to Chase Bank. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the services.
