Obituary: Tina Wieckhorst

Albertina Marie Wieckhorst, 42, died Oct. 3, 2010 at Omak Hospital in Omak, Wash., of an infection and a blood clot in her lungs after suffering a broken leg as a result of a fall.

She was born June 15, 1968 to Roger A. and Eve-lyn F. (Howard) Wieckhorst at Naval Air Station Lemoore, Kings County, Calif.

She was named after her two grandmothers, Mable Albertina Howard and Mary Marie Wieckhorst.

Ms. Wieckhorst attended schools in Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska before moving with her mother to Washington State, where she graduated from Lake Stevens High School. On June 7, 1997, she married Kevin Jon Kane in Omak and inherited a son at the same time. She worked at the Farmers Housing Administration office in Okanogan, Wash. at that time.

She received a big surprise when she gave birth to a daughter, Cheyenne Autumn Newton-Kane, on Aug. 24, 2004.

Ms. Wieckhorst is survived by her mother, Evelyn Newton of Graham, Wash.; father Roger Wieckhorst of El Dorado, Kan.; step-father Scott Newton; two brothers, Jeffrey Wieckhorst of El Dorado and Jereme Wieckhorst of Rosalia, Kan.; son Johnathan Kane of Omak; daughter Cheyenne Newton-Kane of Omak; grandmother Mable Howard of Sweet Home; one nephew; four nieces; several cousins; and three uncles.

Services were held Oct. 8 at the Okanogan United Methodist church.
