Walter Sigerd Forsberg, 93, of Sweet Home, died on the evening of Sept. 28, 2009 at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital.
He was born in Mayor to Gus and Mary (Johnson) Forsberg. He grew up in Clatskanie and moved to Sweet Home 65 years ago.
Mr. Forsberg bought a farm and raised his family there. He worked at Willamette Industries for 20 years. He was a member of the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and his church family. He enjoyed delivering food for the Gleaners.
His hobbies included gold mining, fishing and hunting, camping, sightseeing, working on his farm and taking care of his cattle.
Mr. Forsberg is survived by a step-daughter, Barbara Rector of Salem; daughters Mary McAdams of Sweet Home and Christy Davis of Salem; a son, Royce Forsberg of Sweet Home; 10 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Forsberg; daughter Kathy Forsberg; and sister Olga Forsberg.
A memorial service was held Oct. 3 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Sweet Home.
