Old school burns

Lebanon firefighter Corby Wilson, and a bystander inspect the remains of the old McDowell Creek school house, at the intersection of McDowell Creek Drive and Berlin Road, after it burned early Monday morning. Then, early Tuesday, it flared up again. Lebanon Fire spokesman Jon Davis said the blaze was reported at 1:10 a.m. He said the fire marshal’s investigation is continuing. The building, a former Roman Catholic church, was moved to the site in 1944 on a sled from a quarter mile away. The gym, in back, was added later.
