Oliver B. Lamb, 96, died Sept. 6, 2008 at Bridgecreek Memory Care Center.
He was born on June 5, 1912 in Hamilton, Texas.
On Sept. 26, 1934, he married his sweetheart, Ovella. They were married nearly 74 years this month. They moved to Torrance, Calif., in 1941 where he worked at Northrop Grumman Aircraft. He retired from there, and he moved to Sweet Home in 1972.
He was very active with the Baptist Church. He loved to garden, raising a big garden each year. He also loved camping and going south every year.
He is survived by his wife, Ovella, of Lebanon; a daughter and son-in-law of Sweet Home; a daughter and son-in-law of Palos Verdes, Calif.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sept. 10 at Gilliland Cemetery with a Celebration of Life planned for Sept. 13.
