Lisa Gourley is the first person to file for the City Council election in November.
The council has four open seats, held by James Goble, Greg Mahler, Mayor Jim Gourley and a position left vacant by the resignation of Bruce Hobbs. Their terms all expire on Dec. 31.
Mayor Jim Gourley has indicated he will not run again after serving 24 years on the council. Lisa Gourley is his wife.
To file for the election, stop by the city manager’s office at City Hall, 1140 12th Ave. For information, call (541) 367-8969.
The four candidates receiving the most votes in the November election win.
The fourth-place candidate serves a two-year term, while the top three will serve four-year terms, all beginning in January.
No one had filed as of Monday for the vacant seat. The deadline for applications to fill the vacancy is 5 p.m. Friday.
