Mahlon Jackson, in front, and Brian Wooley, U.S. Corps of Engineers employees, take their clean-up boats out of Foster Lake Thursday afternoon after filling a containment boom with debris washed down the forks of the Santiam River during the winter. They had just finished moving the debris behind them out of the Gedney Creek boat ramp. Wooley said the debris is a lot thicker than usual, and they had filled the containment area twice – over twice the usual amount. They expected to be back on the lake this week for more cleanup.
