July 31, 1927 – April 27, 2019
Ora Belle Way, age 92, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 27, 2019, at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital in Lebanon.
Ora Belle was born on July 31, 1927 in Foster to Nancy and William Funk.
She and her husband, Eugene Way, grew up together. They were childhood friends since the age of nine and living close to each other during their childhood, they quickly became childhood sweethearts.
On June 9, 1946 she and Eugene were married in Vallejo, Calif. After marrying they lived in California for several years before moving to Redmond.
Eventually, over the river and through the woods, they moved, ending up in Sweet Home in 2003, to the small community where she was born.
They were happily married for 72 years. Ora Belle was the loving mother of three children, and later a tender grandmother to nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, with a little brother on his way in August.
Ora Belle was a source of kindness, love, and stability to her family and all she knew. She was known for her soft, compassionate spirit, her endless love for giving to others, her brilliant mind and love for research, and her uncanny skill with cooking most anything she put her mind to.
Ora Belle always put those she loved in her life before her and was truly a staple in the lives of many.
She was preceded in her passing by a son and a daughter.
She is survived by her caring and loving husband, Eugene.
