Sweet Home’s Health Fair has been cancelled.
Due to the on-going concerns of the COVID-19 pandemic, guidelines set forth by Oregon governor Kate Brown, the Center for Disease Control, and the Community Health Committee, organizers have decided to call off the event scheduled for Aug. 15.
“It was a difficult decision to cancel this year’s event, but it was necessary as the health, safety, well-being of our vendors, service providers, attendees and community must be our highest priority and our responsibility to protect all,” said Bob Dalton, chair of the Health Fair.
“I would like to personally convey my deepest appreciation to all the event vendors/service providers, Health Fair Committee members, city leaders, and the residents that have made this event more successful each year.
“Without you we could not have done this. Vendors and service providers alone have grown by more than 15 percent each year, which aligns with our commitment and goal to provide more quality services to our community residents that they may not normally be aware of or have access to.”
Dalton said the plan is to bring the event back, “bigger and better,” next year, on Aug. 21, 2021.
