After three previous unsuccessful years of hunting, local hunter Linda Hutchins harvested her first-ever big game animal when she successfully bagged this trophy buck during the recent Oregon mule deer season. “My goal was just to get a buck this year,” Linda said. Her buck nearly made the Boone & Crockett record book with a gross green score of 179-4/8, and a net score of 159-1/8 typical and 167-3/8 non-typical. It has five points per side, is over 21 inches tall, and has an outside spread of 29-5/8 inches. Even though it didn’t make the record book, it still surpasses anything anyone in her family and hunting party has ever taken (including her husband, Randy).
