The Sweet Home Alumni Foundation recently received a $1,000 grant from Pacific Power Foundation to support scholarships for the Sweet Home High School’s graduating class of 2014.
Pacific Power Foundation receives numerous request each cycle and, according to Lilisa Hall, executive director of the foundation, the Alumni Scholarship program was worthy of funding.
The foundation’s allocation of grant dollars is determined by the quality of the grant application and the available resources in a given cycle and/or year.
Since 1992, Sweet Home Alumni Foundation has awarded over $400,000 in scholarships to qualified graduating seniors at Sweet Home High School.
The scholarship funds come from endowments, donations, grants and fund-raising projects. The foundation’s next fund-raiser is the 10th Annual Trees for Scholarships on Dec. 7.
