Patricia Jane Tyler, 77, of Sweet Home, died Thursday, Dec. 1, at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland.
She was born in St. Louis, Mo. to Albert and Grace (Baird) Wilcox.
Mrs. Tyler came to Sweet Home in 1941. She graduated from Sweet Home High in 1946. She and Sam Tyler were married Sept. 11, 1946 in Albany. He was a logger and she helped keep the books for the business. They raised their family together in Sweet Home.
She loved her large yard and always had a big beautiful garden. Her family and friends always enjoyed her cooking. She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church and Sweet Home Art Society.
She is survived by her children: Wesley (and Susan) Tyler of Hoonah, Alaska; Beverly (and Russell) Hurst of Sweet Home, Milli Bostrom of Sweet Home, and Bonnie (and Don) Arndt of Sweet Home, 11 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel and sister Donna Morgan.
A graveside service was held Monday at Gilliland Cemetery, with a service following at Elm Street Baptist Church.
