Paul and Roselene

Paul and Roselene “Pete” Loree will commemorate their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration at the Sweet Home Elks Club at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, with their children present.

They were married Dec. 19, 1955 after a month-long, whirlwind courtship while Paul was home on leave from the Air Force.

“Pete” Deen was born in Arkansas and lived in Arizona prior to moving to Sweet Home in the early 1950s. Paul Loree was born in Lacomb and lived in the area until he joined the military. Both attended high school in Sweet Home and have lived there since Paul’s retirement from the Air Force in 1975.

Paul then went to work for Willamette Industries’ Sweet Home Plywood Mill and retired in June 1992. “Pete” worked for White’s Electronics for two years and then for White’s Jewelry for 13 years. She retired the same time as Paul.

The Lorees have three children: Keith, of Dayton, Ohio; Kenneth, of Sweet Home; and Paula, of Phoenix, Ariz. They have six grandchildren.
