Pauline L. Banta, 88, of Sweet Home died Oct. 25 at the Mennonite Village.
She was born Jan. 10, 1917 in Bismark, N.D. She came to Oregon with her family, which settled in the Crawfordsville area, where she attended school and graduated from Sweet Home Union High School in 1935.
She met and married Leo Banta in 1936. They had three children: Judith Banta Hunter, Ronald Banta and Kathleen Banta Kliewer, who preceded her mother in death.
She is survived by two sisters, Maxine Yates and Billie Anne Estep, both of Lebanon, seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Max Hoeft.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Sweet Home Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4714 Highway 20.
