Pearl H. Strouts, 97, of Sweet Home, died Feb. 20, 2006.
She was born April 1, 1908, on her father’s birthday, in Sweet Home to Samuel R. and Louisa (Spring) Nothiger. She was a full-blooded Swiss. She was born, raised and died in the same house. She married George Strouts in January 1939.
She loved to knit and crochet during her “fun time.” Her work time consisted of hauling rocks from the garden place and taking care of as many as 80 rose bushes. She loved to take flowers to the Evangelical Church, with which the Nothiger family has been very involved.
The Strouts did not have children. She is survived by nieces and nephews Mardy and Tom Hufford, Don and Charlotte Graber, Byrdene Brown, Edith Crocket, Daryl Nothiger, Carol and Lynn May, and Louise Jane and Robert Long; cousin, Margaret Morse; great-niece, Diane Lucky; and many more.
Services were held Feb. 25 at the Sweet Home Evangelical Church. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
