Bystanders, bottom, shade the victim of a low-impact vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash on Cedar Street as medics, above, load her into an ambulance for transport to the hospital, near the corner of 16th Avenue. Medics and police responded to the crash at 5:01 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18. The caller had reported backing a vehicle into his wife. The woman, 81-year-old Barbara Marshall, had non-life-threatening injuries. The driver was Richard Kaloustian, 75. Police Chief Jeff Lynn said the female had been struck at a low speed when the male did not see her while backing out of the garage. No citations were issued.
