Peggy Lynne Honeywell, 60, of Sweet Home died Feb. 17, 2014 of autoimmune complications of Crohn’s disease.
She was born Nov. 14, 1953 in Lebanon to Guy F. and Gladys E. (Igo) Honeywell.
She was raised in Sweet Home. She lived with and cared for her father until his death in 2004.
Ms. Honeywell attended school in Sweet Home, graduating in 1972. She earned an associate’s degree at Linn-Benton Community College and worked for the Sweet Home school district for 27 years, retiring in 2008. She was at Holley Elementary for the majority of that time.
She was a member of Sweet Home Assembly of God and Kings Chapel in Lebanon.
Ms. Honeywell spent her life teaching, caring for and enjoying children and young people. She was very loving, generous and giving.
She enjoyed reading, stamping, old movies, camping and family get-togethers. She mentored and spent a great deal of time loving and enjoying her nieces, nephews and their families.
Ms. Honeywell is survived by a sister, Darlene and brother-in-law Roy Gaskey; brother Fred and sister-in-law Joy Honeywell; sisters-in-law Carol Honeywell and Sally Honeywell; brothers-in-law Erv Reynolds and Sherman Stevenson; and many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother in 1974, her father in 2004; and siblings Robert, Ralph, Buck, and Hank Honeywell, Venita Stevenson and Kathy Reynolds.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at Sweet Home Assembly of God with a potluck reception to follow. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Kings Chapel, 30583 Butte Creek Road, Lebanon.
