Sweet Home PEO, Chapter DD is has announced its annual scholarship winners.
The recipients are Sweet Home residents Lucinda Armendariz, Kimber Swanson, Tera Nelson, Crystal Montigue and Carissa Swanson, each of whom received over $1,000 to be used to complete their degrees.
“PEO’s purpose is to promote educational opportunities for deserving women of all ages, as well as foster long standing and life-long supportive relationships between women, and to enhance the lives of those within our community,” said Cynde Burford, chapter president.
“Our chapter is able to provide these scholarships through our annual sales of local berries. Each June we take orders for flash-frozen strawberries, blueberries and marionberries and the berries will be ready for pick up in August.
“Our customers come back year after year because they know the quality of the product, the economical price and that the funds go to such a good cause.” Burford said.
“This June we would love to double our orders and be able to help even more deserving girls achieve their education goals.”
