Police arrest burglary suspect

Sweet Home police officers detained an alleged burglar in the act last week.

At 1:22 a.m. on Aug. 2, a caller reported two subjects breaking into a house, 110 W. Nandina St., said Sgt. Jeff Lynn.

Officers responded, parked away from the property and approached on foot.

Officers heard someone walking around inside the house, Lynn said. They apprehended Timothy Ray Reynolds, 56.

According to the officers, he told them he was doing some work on the house and had permission to be there, Lynn said, but police contacted the property owner and learned that he did not have permission.

Reynolds was lodged at Linn County Jail on a charge of first-degree burglary.
