Linn County Sheriff’s Office has arrested three more suspects in the kidnapping and assault of a 20-year-old woman over the weekend near Sweet Home.
Linn County deputies assisted by Sweet Home Police Department arrested two, Karissa Lynett Williams, 33, and Joseph Raphael Gutierrez, 30, at approximately 6 p.m. on April 23 in Sweet Home.
Following interviews by detectives, both individuals were arrested for first-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault.
After media attention, Michell Dawn Slay, 25, turned herself in at the Linn County Sheriff’s Office on April 24, and she was also charged with first-degree kidnapping and third-degree assault.
All three suspects were lodged at Linn County Jail.
Although the case remains under investigation, no further arrests are anticipated at this time, said Sheriff Tim Mueller.
Linn County Deputies arrest Sweet Home man in kidnapping

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller reports an arrest has been made in the kidnap andassault of a woman near Sweet Home.
Linn County Sheriff’s deputies have arrested Daniel Fred Schroeder, 54, as a suspect in a possible kidnapping and assault that allegedly occurred over the weekend near Sweet Home.
A 20-year-old female victim reported that she had gone to the residence of the suspect on Friday, said Sheriff Tim Mueller. She informed detectives that sometime over the weekend she was physically assaulted and held against her will until she was able to leave Sunday morning when the suspect was asleep.
The investigation led to the service of a search warrant at the residence on Sunday night. Members of Linn County Regional SWAT assisted with the search warrant.
Late Monday, April 22, a citizen called the Linn County Sheriff’s Office to report the location of the suspect wanted in the case, Mueller said in a statement Tuesday.
Deputies located the suspect, Schroeder, a Sweet Home resident, at a residence in Lebanon. He was transported to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office in Albany where he was interviewed by detectives.
Schroeder was charged with Kidnap 1 and Assault 3 and lodged in the Linn County Jail where he awaits arraignment, Mueller said.
The case remains under investigation.
