Police believe man found behind Circle K died from natural causes

Police officers believe the death of a Sweet Home man, whose body was found behind Circle K, was from natural causes.

“On April 7, at 12:05 p.m., a report was made of a male deceased in the field area behind Circle K (2405 Main St.),” said Jason Van Eck, sergeant with the Sweet Home Police Deparment. “Officers responded to the location and located the deceased, Richard Kenneth Robertson, 60.”

The medical examiner responded from the Linn County District Attorney’s Office, Van Eck said. The investigation showed nothing suspicious, although the cause of death is unknown at this time.

“We don’t believe there was any foul play,” Van Eck said.

Robertson lived on Long Street, Van Eck said. Police don’t know what he was doing in the area, whether he was going to Circle K or a friend’s house; but it is a commonly used path between Long Street to Circle K and Main Street.
