Police Logs: Feb. 5, 2025

Every individual named or referenced is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Feb. 1

8:14 a.m. – Brent Anthony Prather arrested on Linn County Justice Court warrant in criminal trespass case, and cited for driving while suspended, and for invalid license, which was seized. Cited and released. 800 block 14th Ave.

8:59 a.m. – Joshua Allen Geerhart, 36, arrested for domestic violence-strangulation after caller reported that an elderly male had come to her house, crying and asking her to call police. According to police, Geerhart allegedly choked his father during an argument over a van that they both share ownership of. Geerhart lodged at Linn County Jail.

9:50 a.m. – Hailey Dawn Ziems arrested by Portland police on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in theft case. Cited to appear Feb. 26.

3:50 p.m. – Colton Dayle Welch cited for driving uninsured, 4000 block Long St.

3:53 p.m. – Frank Vincent Nelson arrested by Albany police on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to comply in theft of services case. Cited to appear Feb. 26.

10:34 p.m. – Caller reported male jumping in and out of roadway in 3100 block Main St. Officer responded, contacted male who agreed to stay on sidewalk.

 

Jan. 31

8:00 a.m. – Deputy warned 15-year-old for riding offroad-only dirt bike on road, 400 block Mountain View Rd.

10:18 a.m. – Deputy investigated death of 79-year-old male in 1000 block North River Dr. Death appeared to be natural. Report taken.

11:56 a.m. – Motor vehicle crash reported at intersection of Old Holley Road/Curley Lane. Juvenile was driving too fast and hydroplaned. No injuries, minimal damage to vehicle.

1:38 p.m. – Gilbert Alonzo Martinez arrested for first-degree criminal trespass after caller reported a male had entered her house in 1000 block 43rd Ave., took off when she called police. Martinez cited and released.

2:02 p.m. – Scott Citro, 49, arrested for second-degree trespass,  interfering with peace officer and on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in reckless driving case, 27800 block Hwy. 20.  Cited to appear Feb. 26. Report taken.

2:34 p.m. – Deputies conducted death investigation in 41200 block McQueen Dr.  Report taken.

10:37 p.m. – Brandi Lee Dozier, 39, of Lebanon, arrested by Sheriff’s Office on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in criminal driving case. Cited to appear Feb. 26.

 

Jan. 30

12:49 a.m. – Nicholas Nivison, 32, of Cascadia, arrested on two counts of probation violation, second-degree criminal trespass and warrants following report of domestic disturbance in 43700 block Wiley Creek Dr.  Report taken.

1:43 a.m. – Daniel Cutis, 50, of Sweet Home, arrested by Sheriff’s Office on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear and failure to comply in criminal trespassing cases, 43700 block WIley Creek Dr.  Report taken.

3:05 p.m. – Kyle Dawayne Roebuck, 29, arrested for first-degree criminal trespassing, 1200 block 23rd Ave. Cited and released.

3:32 p.m. – Kaleb Taylor  cited for misuse of left-hand turn lane, unsignalled lane change, and unreasonable sound application in 4300 block Main St.

3:54 p.m. – Ulexis Marie Cloonan, 23, arrested by Lebanon police on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in a criminal trespassing case. Cited to appear Feb. 26.

5:42 p.m. – Caller reported that two dogs killed all their chickens in 5100 block Nandina St. Officer responded. Owner had retrieved dogs and civil agreement was reached to replace chickens. Owner warned for dog at large.

5:59 p.m. – Officer spotted juvenile on dirt bike without lights. Advised juvenile to return home with dirt bike. 1500 block Tamarack St.

8:09 p.m. – Caller reported that female carrying axe had come into Woods Roadhouse, 6099 Main St., requesting assistance in getting male out of her vehicle. Officer responded, parties separated. Item placed in property.

10:46 p.m. – John Goward, 40, cited for driving while suspended, driving uninsured, failure to signal within 100 feet. 2400 block Main St.

 

Jan. 29

9:18 a.m. – Caller reported items stolen from 1200 block 10th Ave. Officer responded, took report for second-degree theft. Approximate value $600. Further details unavailable.

10:47 a.m. – Sheriff’s Office responded to report that approximately 17 trees had been illegally harvested and burned on Cascade Timber Consulting property near intersection of Old Hufford Rd. and Quartzville Dr. Investigation ongoing. More information will be available when arrests are made, LCSO said. Report taken.

12:17 p.m. – Caller reported she found door open on her vehicle. Officer responded, report taken for unauthorized entry into motor vehicle. 1200 block 44th Ave.

2:33 p.m. – Caller reported bullying incident that occurred at Sweet Home High School, 1600 block Long St. Officer responded, parents of alleged offender were contacted, perpetrator will be counselled. School is handling incident.

2:59 p.m. – Deputy performed death investigation. Death appeared to be of natural causes. Report taken. 28100 block Water Lane.

5:03 p.m. – Caller reported finding firearm under hood of impounded vehicle, 1800 block Main St. Officer responded, attempt to contact owner unsuccessful, gun seized. Gun originally reported stolen to Portland police, who were advised.

6:13 p.m. – Tyler Epps, 25, of Sweet Home, arrested for felon in possession of restricted weapon, possession of methamphetamines, and for warrants. Arrest followed trespass report in 39200 block Crawfordsville Dr. According to LCSO, Epps showed up “high on drugs,” according to caller and he allegedly had brass knuckles in his possession when deputy took him into custody. Report taken.

 

Jan. 28

7:53 a.m. – Sarah Mariah Linden arrested for second-degree child neglect, after small child was found walking alone in neighborhood. 1800 block Grape Loop. Cited and released.

7:30 p.m. – Peggy Pitts, 37, of Lebanon, arrested on outstanding warrants m 28700 block Santiam Terrace. Transported to Linn County Jail. Report taken.

11:17 a.m. – Caller reported yard items damaged in 1300 block Main St. Officer responded, report taken. Value estimated at $50.

2:29 p.m. – Caller reported male in roadway, swinging at cars and blocking traffic in 3000 block Main St. Officer responded, contacted male, who was advised to stay out of roadway and use crosswalks.

4:20 p.m. – Michael Evan Matthews arrested for second-degree criminal trespass, 1900 block Main St. Cited and released.

4:46 p.m. – Jeramy Wesley Babb arrested on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to report as sex offender, 2400 block Long St. This followed caller reporting that her husband was yelling at her and refusing to allow her to leave with her son. Cited and released.

7:39 p.m. – Sheri Yvonne Bower, 52, arrested on Linn County Justice warrant for criminal trespass and Sweet Home Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in criminal trespass case. Police responded to location after caller reported female who had been sitting in location since 11 a.m. 12th Ave./Kalmia St.

 

Jan. 27

1:51 a.m. – Tracy Wade Backman, 57, arrested on Linn County Justice Court criminal trespass warrant, Albany Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in weapon possession case, Lebanon Municipal Court warrant for failure to appear in driving while suspended case.

6:42 a.m. – Caller reported trailer door open, someone possibly inside, in 1600 block Main St.  Officer responded, determined no one was in trailer. Report taken for third-degree criminal mischief.

6:54 a.m. – Caller reported male tried to get into his house, 4200 block Long St. Officer responded, report taken for second-degree criminal trespass.

7:51 a.m. – Gilbert Alonzo Martinez arrested for second-degree criminal trespass, first-degree attempted criminal trespass, 1950 Main St. Cited and released.

8:03 a.m. – Caller reported chip truck that previously had been stolen now had been moved and hood was up. 1600 block 18th Ave. Officer responded, report taken for unauthorized use of and entry into motor vehicle.

10:27 a.m. – Caller reported theft from logging operation on BLM land in 47500 block Quartzville Rd. Details not fully available, but according to LCSO, missing items included lighting and attempts were made to steal batteries from heavy machinery. Value of missing property believed in excess of $1,000. Investigation continuing.

2:26 p.m. – Tod Allen Sindt, 64, arrested for third-degree theft, 2000 block Long St. Cited and released.

2:42 p.m. – Raymond Lyle Tressell, 29, arrested by Lebanon police on Sweet Home Municipal Court warrants for failure to appear in second-degree criminal trespass, unauthorized entry into motor vehicle cases. Cited to appear on Feb. 26.

4:05 p.m. – Deputy performed death investigation in 1000 block North River Dr. Death believed to have been from natural causes.

5:02 p.m. – Caller reported theft of two bags of cans from 200 block W. Holley Rd. Officer responded, report taken for third-degree theft. Value estimated at $40.

5:30 p.m. – Caller reported two children’s bikes stolen from 1200 block 38th Ave. Estimated value $900. Officer responded. Report taken for second-degree theft.
