2:51 p.m. – Nicholas Edward Cruse arrested at LCJ on SHMC warrant for FTC in criminal mischief case. Cited to appear June 24.
3:30 p.m. – Caller reported dogs at large in 1600 block Elm and “they are not friendly.” Officer responded to find dogs back in yard and calmed down. Will contact owners later.
7:22 p.m. – Crash reported on Hwy. 228 in area of Fern Ridge. According to SHPD, Gary Gording, 79, of Brownsville, was driving a 1997 GMC pickup westbound on Hwy. 228 and attempted to make a turn south onto Rowell Hill. Eric Frost, 47, riding a 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle, was also westbound and his motorcycle collided with the rear of Gording’s pickup. Frost was transported to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis. He was cited for DU and careless driving.

1:46 p.m. – Caller reported people camping in 3000 block Main. Officer contacted male, who moved along.
2:04 p.m. – Caller reported tall grass, overhanging tree in 1000 block 23rd. Complaint letter sent.
2:23 p.m. – Tyler Cole Holly arrested after turning himself in at SHPD, 1950 Main, on SHMC warrant for FTC in criminal driving case. Cited and released.
2:30 p.m. – Crash reported in 2000 block Main. According to SHPD, Allen George Lowery, 73, driving a 2002 Chevrolet Tracker UT, was pulling out of the Dollar General parking lot, attempting to turn westbound, while Katie Marie Barr, 41, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, was turning eastbound from the McDonald’s driveway on the north side of Main. They collided as they made their turns simultaneously, the front passenger fender of the Malibu striking the rear passenger side of the Tracker. Barr cited for DWS, DU. Barr also arrested on LMC warrant for FTA in another DWS case and for Linn County Supervisory Warrant for contempt. Lodged at LCJ.
4:07 p.m. – Crash reported in 1000 block 3rd. According to SHPD, Caleb Ray Vijay Kropf, 40, riding a 2023 Kawasaki motorcycle, had just left a residence on 3rd and was traveling south on 3rd when he crashed. Transported by medics. Investigation continuing.
6:50 p.m. – Officer located stolen vehicle in 1300 block Hawthorne. According to SHPD, officers had been alerted to keep an eye out for a red 2006 Toyota Scion that had been reported stolen out of Albany. During patrol, officer located the vehicle unattended on Hawthorne. Vehicle towed.
6:54 p.m. – Caller reported memorial sign from Hoys Hardware parking lot, 3000 block Main, moved into trees across street.
8:28 p.m. – Brandon Ryan Freeman, 32, arrested on SHMC warrant for FTA in trespassing case, following traffic stop in 1500 block Main. Hunter Ariel Ringheimer, 32, arrested on SHMC warrants for FTA in theft, escape and contempt of court cases, LMC warrant for FTA in criminal citation case, LCCC warrant in fentanyl possession case. Both cited and released.
9:56 p.m. – Joshua Kealohanui Ben Leslie, 38, arrested for criminal trespass II and theft III after caller from Safeway, 1540 Main, reported male who had been trespassed from store was back and had taken multiple items. Leslie cited and released.

8:38 a.m. – Neighbor sprays water into boy’s room while he plays drums, 1700 block S Grove St. She believes he plays to irritate her, she keeps a log of every time he plays.

Victim reported being talked into paying to have family member released from ankle monitor/ Suspects were able to describe the family member and gave an inmate number that matched the real inmate ID. Victim used online banking to transfer funds to Zelle account. Following that, the scammers requested additional funds, at which point the victim realized what was going on and contacted LCSO. Report taken.
9:20 a.m. – Deputy continued investigation into illegal drone flying near Brownsville, 36000 Northern.
11:24 a.m. – LCSO conducted death investigation, 24200 block W. Brush Creek. Death ruled natural. Report taken.

10:22 a.m. – Caller reported theft in 1500 block Tamarack. Officer responded, information noted. Missing item was an umbrella. Caller wanted to document thefts in area, request extra patrol.
1:06 p.m. – Caller, from Salem, reported Sweet Home resident calling and harassing her. Caller from Sweet Home reported theft of her dog, money and fraudulent use of credit card. Police investigating.
2:17 p.m. – Caller from Thriftway reported theft of items totaling $36.00. Oryan Quincy Wellman, 24, arrested at intersection of Main/Osage for theft III, criminal trespass I. Cited and released.
3:10 p.m. – Caller from 1200 block 2nd reported vultures at that location attacking cats. Officer responded; vultures fled upon arrival.
6:58 p.m. – Multiple callers reported male riding dirt bike up and down hill at Sweet Home Junior High, 880 22nd. Officer responded, contacted male, who was advised to push bike off property and was trespassed. Male returned home.

10:30 a.m. – Father of 14-year-old girl found her bedroom window screen cut. It was determined she sneaks her boyfriend through her window and the cut is likely due to that.
11:33 a.m. – Students at Seven Oak allegedly admitted to smoking marijuana from vape pen in girls bathroom.
2:58 p.m. – Subject threatened to beat neighbor up for moving his trash cans out of the road, which were preventing neighbor from driving out of his driveway.
