Police looking into stabbing that left two injured

Sweet Home police are investigating a stabbing incident that left two men injured.

On Feb. 7, at approximately 7:22 p.m., Sweet Home police and medics were dispatched to the area of 4306 Long St. for a person with a suspected knife wound. They found Joshua Leslie, 19, of 4216 Long St. with knife wounds to his hand, Police Chief Bob Burford said. Leslie initially told police he had been in a fight with another man at 4306 Long St. and that he had stabbed the other man in self-defense. During the incident, he had received cuts to his hand, he said.

Officers found significant blood evidence, but the other man was not located immediately, Burford said.

Leslie was transported to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital, Burford said.

Several children were present in the residence at the time, he said.At approximately 7:43 p.m., officers located the second man, Thomas Ramsey, 45, at 4216 Long St. by following his blood trail, Burford said. The location is approximately one block from the scene of the assault.

Ramsey was suffering from multiple stab wounds to his side, Burford said. A second ambulance transported him to LCH.

Officers and detectives are still investigating the incident.
