Longtime readers of The New Era may recognize the gentleman in this photo, Harley “Pete” Porter, who for many years wrote for the newspaper before he retired. Pete and his wife Ruth, who have lived in Albany for 38 years, recently celebrated their 56th anniversary. This photo is from the Porters’ wedding day, Feb. 15, 1958, in Roseville, Calif.
