Sweet Home boys baseball lost 10-4 at Marshfield on April 4.
Jon Holly took the loss on the mound for the Huskies, and Kayden Gutierrez also pitched in the game for Sweet Home.
The Pirates (4-5) only outhit the Huskies 6-5 in the win, but Sweet Home shot themselves in the foot by walking five, hitting two batters, and committing six errors, the most this season.
“Marshfield was one of the better teams we played this year,” said Head Coach John Best.
“Their pitcher was solid and threw strikes. I feel like our errors were a bit uncharacteristic of our defense this year.”
Kaden Zajic and Lewis Conn each had a double for Sweet Home. Casey Valloni, Dylan Luttmer and Trenton Smith each had a single.
At 0-6, Sweet Home is still searching for its first win. The Huskies take on Philomath (5-3) twice this week, on the road at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, and at home at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 13.
They play at North Marion (4-4, No. 5) at 5 p.m. on Monday, April 17.
