Priority should be library, police

In regards to the news of our city manager wanting to close the library; I think we all need to remember that the city manager, with full City Council approval, has retained thousands upon thousands of dollars from both the library and police levies to help support the general fund for the past two years.

And if our City Council continues to rubber-stamp, those levy dollars will never be used for what they were intended for.

It seems to me that both the library and Police Department have full community support and if anything, the city manager’s top priority should be making sure they remain open and staffed sufficiently with all the necessary supplies.

If cuts need to be made, those should be coming from the General Fund.
